Our interview with The Web Files is ONLINE! This wonderful, professional team including gorgeous host Kristyn Burtt, and the lovely Sandra Payne interviewed us OzGirl kids (Sophie Tilson, Nick Carlton, Shaun Crawford and I) while we were in LA a few weeks ago for the ITVFest. It was a ton of fun! These guys deserve huge credits for being on the ball with the happenings in web TV – what they’re doing to promote webseries and the people behind them is fantastic.

Mathieas at LG15Today gave the interview a plug too – thankyou!!

Also, last night I was in an episode (#4) of an ABC TV comedy, “The Librarians”, with a seriously funny dude by the name of Greg Fleet (an Aussie comedian). A tiny part, but lots of fun Pretty sure the ep can be downloaded now that it’s been aired.

My blogging has thus far been inconsistent, to say the least. I’m going to run with the excuse that they don’t actually have the internet in America. Seriously…

I’ve just spent 5 weeks in LA, and have no idea how/where to begin reporting on my time there. Ah-mazing. It was fun, exciting, surprising, hot, hilarious and fulfilling. It’s my second time there since 2006 and a lot has changed, as it seems to do in that city (mostly in good ways, but I almost cried when I discovered my old fave bar had become a total dive).

In my first couple of weeks, I was thrown head-on into the world of web TV, and gladly so. I was lucky enough to meet so many of the awesome and innovative people that are leading the way in this new industry, and made a ton of great new friends. Amongst other meetings, projects and general revelry, I finally made it to my first Tubefilter meetup (and did an interview there with KoldcastTV), New Media Vault and DigitalLA event – yay!

Then came the Independent Television Festival – we were lucky enough to have had our beloved OzGirl chosen as part of the official selection. I picked up Soph, Nick and Shaun from LAX the day before the opening night gala, and took them to breakfast at Mel’s Drive-In on Sunset. That was probably the last moment we got to scratch our bums before our flight home (and I’m not complaining one bit). The festival week that followed could easily have been a dream. It was put together beautifully by Jenny and AJ Tesler, and blew my expectations out of the water. It was kind of surreal (but undeniably fun) to do the whole red carpet / interviews / posing for photos thing, and even more surreal to find out that we won 2 awards: “Best Webseries”, and “Best Acting”. I’m still in shock, completely honored, and happy as Larry.

Other news to come soon… our interview with The Web Files, which we had an absolute ball doing – I’ll post the link when it’s up. And, as things move along, look out for updates on Stitch, the new project I’ve been developing with our ol’ reliable foursome (Soph, Nick and Shaun), which I’m verrry pumped about.

The web television community in LA is growing, energetic, supportive and exciting. I’m very much looking forward to getting back there…

What an epic end to an era. The OzGirl finale live broadcast and Q&A par-tay on Thursday night was… AMAZINGLY FUN. It felt like the perfect way to go out. When we turned the camera off afterwards, I think I just sat there for a moment, stunned by what had happened over the last hour – and over the last 6 months. Making and delivering OzGirl was unbelievably fun-filled, challenging and rewarding. I feel very lucky to have stumbled across such a fantastic and talented bunch of people to work with.

Now to the main point of this post. I can’t express enough how sincerely thankful I am to everybody who watched and supported OzGirl. It is 100% true to say that (blah, clichés become clichés for a reason, you know) the best part about doing all of this – hands down – is the support from and interaction with you guys. It could never have been the absolute blast that it was without it. Thankyou a million times over to everybody (including anyone I left out in my hazy attempt at individual thankyous on Thursday night!), for your comments, interaction, articles, blogging, fan groups and all-round invaluable support. Damnit, I have a sudden urge for a group hug. Why are you all so far away?

THE SAD PART? Season 1 of OzGirl has come to an end!

THE HAPPY PART? OzGirl will return. Your questions about Sadie and that flight to Spain, Megan’s brush with redemption, and George’s gun-jumping, will sooner or later be answered…

And there’s more. I’m super excited that Megan will soon resurface in a spinoff series entitled “Megan Brown: Exposed“. I’m very much looking forward to jumping back into her skin! Nick Carlton will be executive producing, and I’ll be co-writing and producing this project with the lovely Jenni Powell. Stay tuned!

Furthermore, we’re in the process of putting together the OzGirl season 1 DVD, with a bunch of extras to play with.

If you missed the live Q&A, it’s online now at http://ozgirl.tv, as are all 23 episodes of season 1. I’m dying to say more about the other two new projects in the works. But, I’m not going to. So there! The rest of the news can wait. Right now, all I want to say is one more supersized, astronomical, ginormous (even bigger than Megan’s sunglasses) THANKYOU!

‘Til next time.

Right, thought it worthy of a mention that I’ve just submitted my application for one of the two Rocketboom (www.rocketboom.com) anchor positions. What a rip-snorter of a job opportunity, for such an awesome show. As such, there is some seriously hefty competition out there. But something feels strangely right about it… So here’s to hoping.

I look forward to forward to playing around with it and honing my nerd skills further (I WILL master html. I have 2 weeks in LA in July: and it’s going to be a gigantic ball of fun, however short-lived!

Over and out.. for now.
